I am getting married this october. We got a reception hall that has basketball hoops that we thought you could raise up, but you can’t. any clever ideas to cover them up or decorate so they don’t stand out as bad. any help is great
thanks
I had this problem too until my soon to be mother-in-law came up with a great idea…i’m getting married in December so we are going to put some greenery around the netting and put christmas lights in it and hang down ornaments. So for a fall wedding I guess you could use some kind’ve greenery and tie in your theme with it or maybe even fall leaves for the season. Just get creative and Hobby Lobby or Michael’s has great stuff to help you make it all happen

You can cover them with fabric in your wedding colors.

I like Gills answer…You could get baskets that will fit in the hoops and fill them with flowers
Good Luck

I think if you try to decorate them they might stand out even more. Maybe you can remove the net (temporarily), or you might be able to remove the whole hoop. Then cover the backboard with fabric. I dont know how many there are so this might not be cost effective, but maybe you can get sheets of plywood, cut to size, to set on top of the hoop, cover the entire backboard and shelf together and put candles, flowers, centerpieces on top of the fabric covering the hoop. Good luck!

Definitely cover the backboard with fabric. I thought it sounded funny at first, but the idea of putting a floral arrangement in the hoop sounds pretty good, now that I think about it. I also like the idea of hanging the christmas lights down as a trailing decoration….maybe hang some fabric or fabric mesh and ivy/floral garlands and make a nice backdrop for head table/ cake table/guest book??? In my hall we had to cover a great big bingo board…..yikes. We draped it with fabric and focused the attention elsewhere. Good luck!

Cover the entire goal with tulle, fabric and gossamer Don’t hang anything from it to attract less attention to it!

You could wrap the hoop with ribbon and fake flowers so they look like a wreath.
