Game 6 of the 2003 NBA Finals from the SBC Center in San Antonio on Sunday, June 15, 2003. Tim Duncan had one of the best Finals games of all-time, with 21 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 blocks. However, New Jersey led by as many as 12, and led by 9 in the 4th quarter when the Spurs went on a 19-0 run, led by Stephen Jackson’s three 3-pointers. The Spurs won 88-77 to win the series 4-2, claim their second NBA championship and send David Robinson into retirement as a champion on Father’s Day.

@anikikim And guess what, they beat a heavily favored Mavs team that were a red-hot 23-7 team after acquiring Butler, which is the equivalent of 64-18 team for the whole year.

Tim Duncan is the greatest power forward to ever play the game. He simply does not get the attention he deserves because he’s not a flashy player and he’s on a team that’s never been too flashy itself. However, they know how to win games, and that’s all that matters.
Also, the NBA needs another David Robinson. A true professional on and off the court.

Here’s the thing: I used to be a Spurs fan, couldn’t stand Tony Parker and I just couldn’t support them any more, but Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Sean Elliot, etc. will always hold a special place in my heart.
Tim Duncan – the great player of the 2000′s.

@voodoochild346 I know they can have both, but not as many have both. MJ was on a complete team. Kobe is on a complete team. See with Duncan. He probably feels like if u have an easy Dunk or lay up to win the game, he probably thinks, what if i try to dunk it but i blow the dunk. So he lays it in.
