Big business is rough, cut-throat, and generally dishonest in the real world. Should we expect the NBA to be an exception to the rule?

yes… the nba is rigged.. all of it… it’s been rigged for years… they fix the close games to make more money and extend the series.. .the only way refs and david stern can’t control the game is when it is a blow out… and i’m talking for every team out there in the playoffs…

Refs had a hand in helping the Suns. If it weren’t for them the Lakers would be already in the finals.

anything is possible but the refs are the ones calling the shots and they don’t benefit if a particular team advances or a particular series is extended.

How do you explain the Spurs, one of the smallest markets in the NBA, winning 4 championships in the past 10 years? How do you explain why so few series go to seven games? Of the last 20 NBA finals, only two of them have gone 7 games. Compare that to baseball (5 of last 20 World Series have gone 7 games) or hockey (6 of last 20 championship series have gone 7 games). If the NBA was fixed, there would be a lot more finals series going the full 7 games.

Because the NBA is run by 30 rough, cutthroat owners who are in direct competition with one another. Why would any of them support rigging the system so that certain franchises make the playoffs every season and others fail year in and year out? Are all of the owners in on it, or do just a few of them pull the refs aside before games and slip a few bucks into their pockets? And more importantly, do conspiracy nuts ever actually THINK about these questions before they post them?
